The best feature is the discovery tool. You can also export data via CSV.
2. Identify what’s missing from your SEO content and what to write about with Topic
[mks_highlight color=”#eded09″]What is it? [/mks_highlight]
Topic is an AI-powered tool that analyses Google and your content to identify gaps where you can strengthen the SEO.
There are two key features: Content Briefs, where you enter a keyword and Topic searches Google for what you need to cover, and Content Grader, which analyses the content you have written for improvements.
[mks_highlight color=”#eded09″]Why is it a good tool?[/mks_highlight]
Topic is different to other content analysis tools because it tells you what you need to write about based on real-time search data – not just how to make your writing fantastic for SEO.
[mks_highlight color=”#eded09″]Best feature[/mks_highlight]
Content Briefs is an exceptional tool for creating SEO content briefs. It tells you exactly what topics to cover to maximise visibility in Google. It works very well and it’s something we use professionally.
3. Deep dive into People Also Ask data with AlsoAsked
[mks_highlight color=”#eded09″]What is it? [/mks_highlight]
AlsoAsked gives you an organised view of People Also Ask data so you can write SEO content than ranks.
All you need to do is input a keyword and AlsoAsked will search Google for People Also Ask data. It provides a crystal clear breakdown of the questions users are asking about a topic and it shows how those questions are linked with a spider diagram.
[mks_highlight color=”#eded09″]Why is it a good tool?[/mks_highlight]
As you may know, ‘People Also Ask’ is a contextual box in Google Search that provides answers to questions people search for. You can use these questions to create killer blog post topics and write SEO content that Google loves.
AlsoAsked makes this advanced keyword research easy and efficient. It’s the best way to collect People Also Ask data.
[mks_highlight color=”#eded09″]Best feature[/mks_highlight]
You can export question data as a spreadsheet and a PNG image. This makes collaboration easy and helps when planning an SEO content strategy.
4. Optimise content in real-time in Google Docs with SEO Writing Assistant
[mks_highlight color=”#eded09″]What is it? [/mks_highlight]
SEO Writing Tool by SEMrush is a Google Docs extension that provides real-time SEO recommendations as you write.
If you use Google Docs to create content, using SEO Writing Assistant is a no-brainer. It provides SEO recommendations based on SEMrush’s industry-leading search data. Quality, keywords, readability, headings, text length and more factors are checked.

It measures readability, SEO, originality and tone of voice. Input your keywords and let the tool do the rest.
[mks_highlight color=”#eded09″]Best feature[/mks_highlight]
You can integrate it with Google Docs and WordPress, giving you two ways to create SEO content. Personally, we prefer using Google Docs for collaboration.
You can also download a Workspace extension for this tool here.
5. Optimise your content in WordPress with Rank Math
[mks_highlight color=”#eded09″]What is it? [/mks_highlight]
Rank Math is an SEO plugin for WordPress that makes it easy for anyone to optimise their content.
Install Rank Math on your WordPress website, input a keyword for the page you are editing and Rank Math will analyse your content in real-time and provide suggestions.
It performs a content audit and a technical audit on your website to give you the most SEO benefit and it does all this by itself.
[mks_highlight color=”#eded09″]Why is it a good tool?[/mks_highlight]
Rank Math helps you create incredible SEO content by making suggestions during editing. Keyword density, keyword focus, keyword variation and many more factors are analysed.
[mks_highlight color=”#eded09″]Best feature[/mks_highlight]
It has a Schema Markup generator and integrates with Google Analytics and Google Search Console. It then tracks and measures your keyword rankings in your WordPress dashboard.
6. Get a complete SEO tool suite with Mangools
[mks_highlight color=”#eded09″]What is it? [/mks_highlight]
Mangools is an SEO tool suite with keyword research, SERP analysis, rank tracking, backlink analysis and SEO metric profilers.
There are so many SEO tool suites out there. Mangools is the best we have come across.
It has five core features – KWFinder, SERPChecker, SERPWatcher, LinkMiner, SiteProfiler – that perform specific tasks. You do everything within a beautiful online dashboard and all data is exportable.
[mks_highlight color=”#eded09″]Why is it a good tool?[/mks_highlight]
Mangools is used by SEO professionals because of the sheer depth and breadth of data it provides. You can build a complete SEO strategy using only this suite of tools.
It’s great for SEO content writing because it identifies a wide range of keywords to integrate into your content.
[mks_highlight color=”#eded09″]Best feature[/mks_highlight]
KWFinder is our favourite tool of the bunch. It finds long-tail keywords other tools miss and you can use it to find all the keywords your website (and others) rank for.
7. Discover LSI (latent semantic indexing) keywords with Watson
[mks_highlight color=”#eded09″]What is it? [/mks_highlight]
Watson is a natural language processing tool powered by AI built by IBM. It uncovers LSI keywords – contextual keywords related to your content’s main topic.
LSI keywords are considered a branch of technical SEO content writing. They are not the kind of thing regular keyword research tools pick up because they are not based on search data. They are based on language.
Copy and paste your content into the tool and it will uncover LSI keywords for you.
[mks_highlight color=”#eded09″]Why is it a good tool?[/mks_highlight]
Watson uncovers LSI keywords which help Google understand what your content is about. By integrating LSI keywords into your content, you are more likely to rank for your main keywords.
[mks_highlight color=”#eded09″]Best feature[/mks_highlight]
The only feature is the tool itself. It’s simple but works well. Just copy and paste your content. You’ll find keywords under the ‘Keywords’ tab.
8. Improve the quality of your writing with Grammarly
[mks_highlight color=”#eded09″]What is it? [/mks_highlight]
Grammarly is a real-time editor that provides suggestions to improve your writing. It catches grammar, spelling and punctuation mistakes, as well as wordy sentences and typos.
The quality of your writing is important so that readers respect your content. Typos and errors turn readers away because they stick out. Grammarly solves the problem and solves it well.
You can use the tool in several ways. There’s a desktop app, an online client and a browser extension. There’s also an app on Android and iOS.
[mks_highlight color=”#eded09″]Why is it a good tool?[/mks_highlight]
If you are prone to making mistakes when you write Grammarly spots these. The free version analyses your writing for correctness (word choice, spelling, grammar) and clarity (wordy sentences and phrases).
[mks_highlight color=”#eded09″]Best feature[/mks_highlight]
Grammarly is available as a browser extension that checks your writing in most editors, including Google Docs and WordPress.
9. Check your content for plagiarism with Duplichecker
[mks_highlight color=”#eded09″]What is it? [/mks_highlight]
Duplichecker is free a copy and paste anti-plagiarism tool that searches the web for other uses of your content.
Duplicate content is bad for SEO. Google says so itself. Duplichecker is our favourite anti-plagiarism tool because it’s fast, accurate and free to use. It has a 1,000-word text limit. Our Duplichecker review deep dives into the features.
[mks_highlight color=”#eded09″]Why is it a good tool?[/mks_highlight]
Our tests show that it has a 95% accuracy rate and only struggles with short quotes. It catches plagiarism across the web and makes sure your content is unique. This will be useful if you buy content.
[mks_highlight color=”#eded09″]Best feature[/mks_highlight]
If you go Pro you can submit up to 30,000 words per search and there are no ads. Plans start from $10 per month.
10. Easily create Schema Markup with Schema Markup Generator
[mks_highlight color=”#eded09″]What is it? [/mks_highlight]
Schema Markup Generator is a tool that generates verified Schema Markup based on data you input.
As you may know, Schema Markup is used by Google and other search engines to better understand what a page is about. It’s also used by search engines to create rich search results like event and recipe listings.
You need to integrate Schema Markup into your content for it to work, but you need to create it first. Schema Markup Generator creates this code for you. All you need to do is input the data.
[mks_highlight color=”#eded09″]Why is it a good tool?[/mks_highlight]
You can create a wide range of Schema Markup, including:
- Article
- How-to
- Breadcrumb
- Event
- FAQ page
- Job posting
- Local business
- Organisation
- Person
- Product
- Recipe
- Video
- Website
The Schema Markup this tool generates is always correct and verifiable in Google’s Structured Data Testing Tool.
[mks_highlight color=”#eded09″]Best feature[/mks_highlight]
The only feature this tool has is the Schema Markup field box. It’s easy to use and produces verified Schema Markup. We like the uncluttered interface and the dark background.
What is SEO content?
SEO content includes articles, blog posts and web pages that are written to rank high in the search engines. The goal is to maximise search engine traffic.
Any type of content can be written for SEO, including articles, blog posts, web pages, press releases, infographics, images, video transcripts and anything else with words.
Is content important for SEO?
Content is essential for SEO. There is no doubt about it. Search engines read the words on your website to determine what your site is about. Without these words, you will not rank high.
How do you write quality SEO content?
- Conduct keyword research
- Identify your target keyword
- Identify what type of content ranks for your target keyword
- Develop your content strategy
- Create your content
- Optimise your content
- Publish
With regards to bullet point 2, perform a Google search for your target keyword. What type of content ranks high? If the top results are listicles, create a listicle. If the top results are guides, create a guide. If the top results are landing pages, create a landing page. You get the idea.

Great find! We’ve added it to our list 🙂
I prefer Yoast SEO to Rank Math. Rank Math has more key features for free but I get better results with Yoast.
Yoast is great. We’ve tried both but prefer Rank Math. All In One SEO is good too.
SEO content is an art that can’t be replicated with tools. Having said that, there’s nothing wrong with using tools to make some tasks easier. The standout tool in this list is Topic in my opinion. It automates the process of keyword phrase discovery and creates article templates for you with headings. All you need to do is write the substance.
Overall, a great list. Thanks.
Glad you like it Neil! It certainly helps save a lot of time 🙂
Just signed up to Mangools. Looks better than ahrefs on first glance. The keyword and website analysis tools are great.
